For those who are exploring the field, consider the options that are opened to you with a degree in radiography. The path for many of us that work as radiographers is not a straight line, which to me was the characteristic I wanted in my chosen career.

Advancement opportunities for radiologic technologists
There are many ways you can advance within your career as a radiologic technologist, depending on your goals. Many students advance into leadership, education and management, or specialized areas and modalities, such as:
- Radiation therapy
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Computerized tomography (CT)
- Mammography
- Nuclear medicine
- Interventional radiology
