Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition and fees

All students who completed a degree prior to starting the Radiography Program will pay tuition directly to the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. 

Students from Minot State University (MSU), Mount Marty College (MMC), Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC), St. Cloud State University (SCSU), Saint Mary's University (SMU), University of Mary (UMary), University of Wisconsin River Falls (UWRF), or Winona State University (WSU) pay tuition directly to Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences.

Students who pay tuition directly to Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences will pay in five installments, one per semester.

Scholarship

Students accepted into the Radiography Program paying tuition at Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences will receive a Launch Scholarship. This scholarship covers tuition and fees charged at Mayo during the first two semesters of the program.

Budget information

Estimated budget information is provided to allow you to completely prepare for your education. The estimated budget is the estimated cost of education-related expenses.

  • Personal and miscellaneous expenses include clothing, laundry and cleaning, personal hygiene and grooming, recreation, renter's insurance, student health insurance, and disability insurance.
  • Transportation expenses include gas, oil, maintenance, and insurance. 
  • Federal student loan fee is the average amount based on prior year borrowers and are a percentage of the total loan amount.
  • Dependent care and other expenses may be added to the budget on a case-by-case basis with supporting documentation. Contact Mayo Clinic's Financial Aid Office for further information.

Tuition for UMR enrollment

Students dually enrolled in the Radiography Program and at University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) in the Bachelor of Science in Health Professions (BSHP) will pay tuition to UMR and can refer to the OneStop Cost of Attendance website for UMR tuition and fee information.

Any questions related to UMR tuition and billing can be directed to UMR’s OneStop office. Students enrolled with UMR should submit their FAFSA form to UMR. See UMR’s Financial Aid site to learn more.

Other expenses

Once a year, students are required to travel at their own expense to an educational campus in Minnesota to participate in the Minnesota Society of Radiologic Technologists' Student Knowledge Bowl. Carpooling is encouraged.

Living expenses

Students are responsible for their living accommodations and transportation. However, these expenses are considered for purposes of processing financial aid, where applicable.

Withdrawal and tuition refund

MSU, MMC, RCTC, SCSU, SMU, UMary, USF, and UWRF students who find it necessary to withdraw from the program may be eligible to receive a refund of tuition depending upon the date of withdrawal. See the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science withdrawal and tuition refund policy.

UMR students who find it necessary to withdraw from the program may be eligible for a tuition refund.

Financial aid

Students at Minot State University (MSU), Mount Marty College (MMC), Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC), St. Cloud State University (SCSU), Saint Mary's University (SMU), University of Mary (UMary), University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR), University of Wisconsin River Falls (UWRF), or Winona State University (WSU) will process financial aid through their degree-granting academic institution.

Students who completed a degree prior to starting the Radiography Program can process financial aid through the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. The Office of Student Financial Aid and Registrar can provide more details about financial aid or incentives offered.

All students are encouraged to apply for outside scholarships.
