Why did you choose to specialize in Adult Reconstructive Surgery? Two main reasons are that I enjoyed the physical and technical aspects of the operations and the significant improvement on the quality of life of patients.

What attracted you to Mayo Clinic for fellowship training? I liked the way previous fellows talked about the fellowship, the adequate case volume, and the great complexity of patients including their surgical and medical histories. And it's a great place to live for a year.

What makes the Adult Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic unique? I would say the thing that most attracted me to the fellowship is that I felt the staff here were going to actually care about my growth as a surgeon and a person throughout the year and as I venture into my own career.

What is living in Jacksonville like for you? It’s been good so far. Really enjoy having the beach nearby. My wife and kids are finding things to do while I am at work and we are excited to explore the city a little more as the year goes on.

What does your future look like right now? Don’t exactly know right now, but currently searching for a job closer to home in Georgia.
