Meet Our Fellows

The Clinical Chemistry, Post Ph.D. Fellowship draws trainees from across the U.S. and around the world. While all our trainees have a love of learning and a compassionate approach to patient care, they come from diverse backgrounds, family status, and professional and personal interests.

What makes this program unique?
The Clinical Chemistry Fellowship at Mayo Clinic is one-of-a-kind for offering experience in both esoteric reference testing and inpatient clinical laboratory medicine. The program also offers great flexibility to pursue research, leadership, and clinical training opportunities depending on the trainees' interests and career goals.

What does your future look like right now?
I am looking forward to presenting research at national conferences in the upcoming year and building my network in the field of Clinical Chemistry. Post-fellowship, I am confident that my experience here will prepare me for a lab director position which will align with my overarching career goal, which is to have a positive impact on patient care through practice, research, and teaching of laboratory medicine.

What makes this program unique?
Mayo Clinic is a large reference lab with many highly specialized laboratories, but also a large hospital with high volume core general chemistry and hospital lab. I really enjoyed the numerous learning resources, diversified research opportunities, and unparalleled mentorships from all faculty members.

What does your future look like right now?
Very good! I'm very excited and looking forward to potential future career opportunities.

What makes this program unique?
At Mayo, we are exposed to a huge number of complex and diverse clinical cases, making it an ideal place for clinical training. We are trained by faculty who are experts and leaders in our field and have a chance to gain invaluable hands-on experience in different clinical laboratories and participate in research projects during training.

What does your future look like right now?
I am very proud and excited to be training at Mayo Clinic. The exceptional clinical training and abundant resources unquestionably fill me with confidence about my prospects. After completion of the training, I believe that I will have more potential and better capability in the development of my future career!

What makes this program unique?
Mayo Clinic truly offers the most comprehensive training in laboratory medicine. Not only do we benefit from the large reference lab at Mayo, but we also rotate through clinical, hospital, and specialized labs. The number of faculty involved in the program is incredible, so a wide variety of research projects are available. Fellows are able to sample all that the clinical chemistry world has to offer at Mayo Clinic.

What does your future look like right now?
The application of my fundamental chemistry knowledge to the clinical setting has been extremely rewarding. I am excited to rotate through the niche labs that are unique to the program and eventually present my research at national conferences.
