Faculty for Crtical Care Medicine Fellowship (FL)

Mayo Clinic's Division of Critical Care Medicine is an integrated practice that provides comprehensive state-of-the-art clinical care for patients with complex critical care needs.

The division includes intensivists from internal medicine, anesthesia, emergency medicine, and neurology, as well as nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, ECMO specialists, and a social worker. Each year, this team provides care for thousands of patients in our medical, cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplant, neuroscience, and abdominal transplant ICU.

From the program director

Pramod Guru, M.B.B.S., M.D.Thank you for your interest in the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Mayo Clinic's campus in Jacksonville, Florida.

Our program offers a collegial, collaborative, patient-centered, and learner-focused educational environment that supports the goals of our fellows while focusing on balancing their wellness. As the program director, my role is to represent your interests to our faculty and staff. I believe that learning is a continuous process and the best academic experience occurs in a nonchalant environment with a focus on individual curiosity.

We have a diverse and accomplished group of physicians and educators, many with national and international reputations. Because Mayo Clinic draws patients from a national and international community, we see varied complex critical care disorders, while at the same time dealing regularly with common illnesses. As we thrive to advance the science of medicine, we always focus on our primary value, "the needs of the patient come first."

Mayo Clinic's campus in Florida is a unique academic medical center that excels in our three shields: patient care, research, and education. The fellowship's vision and mission are aligned with these principles. Mayo Clinic's culture and location in Northeast Florida also help to enhance our trainees' wellbeing and promote a healthy work-life balance. The weather here allows for outdoor activities year-round.

We seek bright, motivated, hardworking physicians who wish to contribute to science and form lifelong friendships and collaborative relationships. I welcome you to learn more about our program and to consider joining our Mayo Clinic Critical Care Medicine Family.

Program faculty

One of the greatest advantages to training at Mayo Clinic is the approachability, accessibility, and collegiality of the faculty.

In addition to caring for patients in clinical practice, Mayo Clinic's faculty is committed to teaching and facilitating the growth of medical knowledge. Many of our faculty members have published and lectured extensively and are highly regarded in their fields.

You work closely with these individuals throughout your training in the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship.
