Application Process

Nine people from the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship program at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, had a discussion during a presentation in a conference room.

Positions

Two positions are available on a competitive basis each year in the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Mayo Clinic's campus in Jacksonville, Florida.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship, you must have either:

  1. Completed three years of accredited postgraduate education in general internal medicine and be board eligible, or
  2. Completed two years of accredited subspecialty fellowship training in pulmonary, nephrology, cardiology, or infectious disease, be board eligible, and have an interest in critical care medicine.

Graduates from medical schools outside the U.S. and Canada must be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates and must have completed a three-year internal medicine residency training program in the U.S. to qualify for admission.

Application process

The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by July 31 of the year preceding the program start date. The academic year begins July 1.

You must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) for fellowship applicants. No matching services are used.

  1. Visit the ERAS for fellowship applicants website. All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials. Of your three letters of recommendation, we require that one be from the program director of your previous program.
  2. Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to visit Mayo Clinic for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted in August each year.
  3. Appointments are made through the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education.
