Meet The Faculty
Welcome to the Family Medicine Residency at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, Minnesota. We are proud of the individual training we provide our residents. Our core faculty have over 60 years of combined experience just in our residency program and play important roles in both the community of Mankato and the broader medical community of Minnesota.
From the program director
Our family medicine residency program in Mankato, Minnesota, offers a uniquely warm and collaborative environment built on a core commitment to individual and community well-being. For over 20 years, we've trained family physicians within Mayo Clinic Health System, fostering a strong sense of community and shared purpose.
We understand the complex interplay of social factors and disease, and are deeply committed to reducing health disparities. Our individualized learning plans support sustainable careers that align with your values and promote a healthy work-life balance, encouraging lifelong learning.
Our curriculum prepares you to provide comprehensive care across the lifespan, developing your skills not only as a physician, but also as a leader, scientist, and community advocate. Our busy tertiary hospital and emergency department, serving a largely rural population, provide rich clinical experience. Our integrated care model includes a community garden, dental clinic, and a team of psychologists, pharmacists, and community health professionals, fostering collaboration and holistic patient care. We actively engage with the community through free clinics, home visits, and care for nursing home residents.
We are proud of our longstanding, dually accredited (allopathic and osteopathic) program with ACGME Osteopathic recognition. Both D.O.s and M.D.s will thrive in our environment, learning and utilizing osteopathic manipulative treatment in patient care.
