Application Process

Positions

There are two positions available on a competitive basis each year in the Gastroenterology Fellowship.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants for the Gastroenterology Fellowship will have completed an accredited internal medicine residency program by the time they begin their gastroenterology fellowship.

How to apply

You must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by July 15 of the year preceding the appointment date. The academic year begins in June.

  1. To apply to the program, visit the ERAS Fellowships website. All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials. This fellowship requires that one of your three letters of recommendation be from your residency program director or department chair.
  2. Appointments are made through the Medical Specialties Matching Program, which is sponsored by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Specialties Matching Service. All candidates must register through the Specialties Matching Service after submitting an application through ERAS.
  3. Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to visit Mayo Clinic for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted between July and October each year.
