From the program director
Welcome to the Internal Medicine Residency at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona! We have a very unique setting in which medical school graduates will transform into well-trained internists ready for the next step in their careers.
Mayo Clinic's campus in Arizona is a distinctive academic medical center that excels in our three areas of emphasis: patient care, research, and education.
We have a diverse and accomplished group of attending physicians, many with national and international reputations. We benefit from the strength and traditions of Mayo pioneers while enjoying the growth and innovation of the Southwest.
Because Mayo Clinic draws patients from a national and international community, we see varied and fascinating pathology, while at the same time dealing regularly with common illnesses and prevention strategies.
Our staff, residents, and fellows work in collaboration in a collegial culture across disciplines. As we seek to advance the science of medicine, we focus on our primary value, "the needs of the patient come first."
I welcome you to learn more about our residents and our program — and to consider joining us on the journey.
