Application Process
Positions
Up to two positions are available on a competitive basis each year in the Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship at Mayo Clinic's campus in Arizona.
Qualifications
To be eligible for the Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship, you must have successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited diagnostic radiology training program and be board certified or board eligible in diagnostic radiology at the onset of the fellowship.

Unfortunately, Mayo Clinic in Arizona is unable to support ABR Alternate Pathway candidates at this time.
How to apply
Candidates must apply through Recruit, a third-party application service.
The application and all supporting documentation are accepted between November 1st and December 10th two years prior to the start of the academic program (For example, applications submitted between November 1st and December 10th, 2025 are considered for the 2027–2028 academic year).
Complete the following steps to apply:
- Create an account to begin the online Application for Admission
- Carefully review Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education policies, the trainee job description, and materials required within application materials and complete/submit application
- After submission, view the required Supplemental Items and Documents.
- Upload each required item in the "Supplemental Items" section
- Request two letters of recommendation - one from radiology residency program director and one from a residency faculty member - in the "Recommendations/Verifications" section (each letter writer will receive an email with a secure link to upload their letter)
Notes: Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited for a virtual interview with the program director and selected faculty.
Appointments are made through the Radiology Match, which is sponsored by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). For these tracks, candidates must register for the MATCH in addition to applying through Recruit.
The Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship will adhere to the Society of Chairs of Academic Radiology Department (SCARD) guidelines for the application/interview process.
