Application Process

Positions

One position is available on a competitive basis each year in the Periodontics Residency at Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota.

Qualifications

To apply to the Periodontics Residency, you must be a graduate of an accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school and be eligible for licensure in the state of Minnesota.

Once appointed to a Mayo Clinic graduate medical education program, residents must obtain a Minnesota dental license. Information about the application process for this license will be provided once an appointment is made.

How to apply

The academic year begins in July.

The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by Aug. 1 of the year preceding the program start date.

You must apply through ADEA Postdoctoral Application Support Service (ADEA PASS), a third-party application service.

Complete the following steps to apply:

  1. Apply through the ADEA PASS website. All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials.
  2. Appointments are made through the Postdoctoral Dental Matching Program, which is sponsored by National Matching Services. You must register for the match in addition to applying through ADEA PASS.
  3. Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to visit Mayo Clinic for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted in October and November each year.
