Application Process
Positions
One position is available on a competitive basis each year in the Vascular Neurology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Qualifications
To be eligible for the Vascular Neurology Fellowship, you must have successfully completed an accredited residency program in neurology or physical medicine in the United States or Canada.
How to apply
You must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), a third-party application service. One position is offered in the Vascular Neurology Fellowship annually.
The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by January 15, approximately 18 months before the program start date. Most applicants apply in the fall or early winter of the PGY3 year of neurology residency. The academic year begins in July.
Complete the following steps to apply:
- To apply to the program, visit the ERAS website. All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials.
- Appointments are made through the Vascular Neurology Match, which is sponsored by the National Resident Matching Program. All candidates must register through the matching program after submitting an application through ERAS.
- Personal interviews with the program director and selected faculty are by invitation only and are based on the applicant's academic performance, United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) scores, letters of recommendation, and other accomplishments as detailed in the ERAS application. Interviews are typically conducted in January through March, 15-18 months before the fellowship start date. If selected for an interview, applicants will be notified by email.
