Application Process
Positions
Each year, Mayo Clinic in Arizona offers seven positions in the Anesthesiology Residency on a competitive basis. Six positions are categorical positions and include a PGY-1 year in the Transitional Year Residency. One advanced position is offered via the match to applicants who have completed an ACGME approved PGY-1 intern year. Applicants can apply to both the categorical and advanced positions.
Qualifications
Prior to beginning the Anesthesiology Residency, residents must complete an ACGME-approved PGY-1 internship. For applicants to the categorical program, this will be satisfied by one year of clinical training at Mayo Clinic in Arizona in the Transitional Year Residency. For applicants who match to the advanced position, you must complete an ACGME-approved PGY-1 Surgery, Medicine, or Transitional internship. Applicants can apply to both the categorical and advanced positions.
