Meet Our Residents

Diagnostic Radiology residents in class at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Diagnostic Radiology Residency draws trainees from across the U.S. and around the world. While all our trainees have a love of learning and a compassionate approach to patient care, they come from diverse backgrounds, family status, and professional and personal interests.

Our program has a total of 16 residents in training at any point in time. See what some of them have to say about our program.

"The most notable aspect of the radiology program here at Mayo Clinic in Arizona has been the culture. From the moment that I matched into the program, and honestly even before match day, this program has felt like a family. We celebrate each other’s success, pick each other up after falls, and come together when everything seems to be falling apart. Life continues to happen during residency, and it is nice to be at a place that not only understands this but goes out of their way to take care of you during the hard times."

"I was drawn to the Mayo Clinic radiology program’s focus on resident education, research opportunities, and academic excellence. Residents routinely see complex cases and work with radiologists who are leaders in their field. Emphasis is placed on education over service, and there is high procedural volume across most specialties. The resources at Mayo Clinic and emphasis on keeping up with the latest research and technology is important in preparing us for our future careers."

"I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a professional environment where residents are supported and regarded not only as trainees but also as colleagues. As a smaller-sized residency within an actively expanding hospital system, residents can form strong relationships early on with departmental faculty who are invested in our growth as radiologists. By completing my transitional year here at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, I was also able to work within diverse array of medical and surgical subspecialties. The opportunity to gain familiarity with many staff and systems here was valuable as an incoming radiology resident, especially knowing that I will be interfacing frequently with these same people throughout my training."

"As a native Phoenician, it was an easy decision to train at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, alongside the physicians who have consistently left an enduring and positive impact on our community. I am beyond happy with the training, resources, and support this program provides. There are ample research opportunities to pursue, leadership positions to hold, and an incredible workplace culture. We see many complex and unique patients while learning from leaders in the field. There is no doubt that Mayo Clinic was the right choice and will provide a solid foundation for a fulfilling career."
