Osteopathic Recognition Track
The Mayo Clinic Family Medicine Residency in La Crosse offers an ACGME-accredited Osteopathic Recognition Track for residents wishing to continue their osteopathic education and incorporate osteopathic manipulative medicine in their own clinical practices. The Osteopathic Recognition Track offers residents the ability to:
- Learn and consult from three dedicated osteopathic faculty members with specialized expertise and training in osteopathic manipulative medicine and neuromusculoskeletal medicine (NMM).
- Incorporate osteopathic medicine in all aspects of the Mayo Clinic three-shield model: Practice, Education and Research.
- Use osteopathic manipulative medicine to treat patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric in a dedicated Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine clinic.
- Attend specific lectures and workshops centered around Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.
- All PGY-1 students have to be in the osteopathic recognition track with the option to opt out after completing their first year.
