Osteopathic Recognition Track

The Family Medicine Residency in La Crosse, Wisconsin offers an ACGME-accredited Osteopathic Recognition Track for residents wishing to continue their osteopathic education and incorporate osteopathic manipulative medicine in their own clinical practices. All PGY-1 D.O. residents have to participate in the Osteopathic Recognition track with the option to opt out after completing their first year.

The Osteopathic Recognition Track offers residents the ability to:

  • Learn and consult from three dedicated osteopathic faculty members with specialized expertise and training in osteopathic manipulative medicine and neuromusculoskeletal medicine (NMM).
  • Incorporate osteopathic medicine in all aspects of Mayo Clinic's three-shield model: Practice, Education and Research.
  • Use osteopathic manipulative medicine to treat patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric in a dedicated Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine clinic.
  • Attend specific lectures and workshops centered around Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.
