We offer the Family Medicine elective, a subinternship designed to incorporate fourth-year medical students into the Mayo Clinic Family Medicine Residency – Mankato clinical care teams and consists of both inpatient and ambulatory experiences. 

Current medical students can apply for 4th year clerkship rotations directly via the AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) portal.  See the Family Medicine, Outpatient and Inpatient - Eastridge Clinic and Mankato Hospital (Mankato, MN) for specific details on the clerkship elective goals and activities.  Visit the Mayo Clinic Visiting Medical Student Clerkship website for information, including information on Diversity Scholarships.

Medical students rotating with our program are expected to join us for our daily noon lectures.  Lunch is provided.  Free parking at the clinic and hospital is available on-site; however, there are reserved areas for patients and guests.  Short-term housing may be available depending on availability.

Other types of rotation requests (shadowing/observations, 3^rd year medical rotations) will be considered during January-May, based on availability.   Interested learners should complete the Clinical Experience Request Form on the Student Opportunities in Mankato webpage.  Select SWMN for location and indicate Family Medicine Residency-Mankato as your choice of department in the comments section.
