Plastic Surgery Research Fellowship

Plastic surgery research fellows at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN

The Mayo Clinic Plastic Surgery Research Fellowship program is available for highly motivated research fellows each academic year. 

This position is an unpaid fellowship for 1-2 years and is open to applicants who have a bachelor's degree and are either enrolled in, or have completed, medical/D.O. school. 

See the  selected bibliography for recent publications completed during the research fellowship. 

Applicants are required to have a working knowledge of word processing and basic spreadsheet functions in Excel. Experience with electronic medical records, data management software (such as Excel and RedCap) is helpful. Prior research experience is helpful but not required. Applicants must be fluent in English.

Accepted research fellows will be provided with the opportunity to take courses on research design and statistics and have the opportunity to earn a certificate of completion in Clinical and Translational Research at Mayo Clinic.

Two start dates for the program are Jan. 1 and July 1. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with a deadline of Feb. 1 and Aug. 1. The application committee will review applications by March 1 and Sept. 1 and may ask top candidates for phone interviews. The program will extend offers to accepted candidates by April 1 to start by July 1 and Oct. 1 to start by Jan. 1.
