About me: I received my Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Creighton University and then completed a Community Pharmacy Residency. I joined Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, in the outpatient setting in 2000 and served as the coordinator of our student education programs. During this time, I helped create two new residency programs in the ambulatory care setting. I transferred to my current role at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2019.

You should know: If I am away from work, I am most likely traveling to a new-to-me part of the world. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking during the winter months and reading a good book during the summer months!

From the Program Director

The pharmacy profession is constantly evolving. As the PGY-1 Residency Program Director at Mayo Clinic Hospital — Arizona, my responsibility is to prepare each resident to meet today’s patient care needs and anticipate tomorrow’s possibilities.

Dr. Will Mayo’s 1910 commencement speech led to our core value, "the needs of the patient come first." Over one hundred years later, this value is consistently demonstrated through incorporation of the interdisciplinary team approach across the spectrum of patient care practice.

Our core value, along with Mayo Clinic’s three shields: patient care, education, and research, forms the foundation of our program. Each resident's experience is customized to help achieve your individual goals. Your patient care experiences will be shaped by collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to provide care to our diverse patient population. Teaching seminars, precepting, and presenting to a variety of practitioners will strengthen your teaching skills while our research curriculum will enhance your research skills.

A PGY-1 residency is a yearlong commitment to personal and professional growth. Throughout this journey, our dedicated preceptors will support you every step of the way — helping you expand your clinical skills and tailoring the experience to meet your needs. At the journey’s end, your commitment and dedication will have prepared you to be an indispensable member of the health care team.
