Application Process

Positions

Six positions are available each year in the Family Medicine Residency in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be graduating within the current academic year or have graduated from medical school within the previous two years.
  • Applicants must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and enroll in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) match.
  • Successful candidates are encouraged to complete their USMLE or COMLEX Steps 1, 2 and Clinical Skills Assessment prior to their interview.
  • Applicants must additionally meet all admissions criteria established by Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education.

How to apply

The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by Dec. 31 of the year prior to the program start date. The academic year begins in July. 

  1. To apply to the program, visit the ERAS website. All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials.

    Our ACGME number is 1205611339. This program requires that at least one of your three letters of recommendation be from a practicing, board-certified family physician.
  2. All appointments are made at the first-year level through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Candidates must register through the NRMP website and our NRMP program code is 1328120C2.
  3. The program director and core faculty invite applicants considered for an appointment for a personal interview between October and January each year.
