What is something you love most about this program?

"I love my residency class. We are very close and tight-knit, which was facilitated by how our first-year schedule is built so that every intern is off on Friday night. We had some sort of social event almost every Friday during our first year."

"The best thing about our program is that everything is geared toward education and learning. Daily teaching conferences encompass a balanced educational curriculum, in addition to one-to-one learning with experts in the field. The flexibility of our schedule accommodates adequate elective rotation time. The program also offers an enormous number of research opportunities and resources, like statistical support and traveling for presentations."

What is the work/life balance like in this program?

"Having a healthy work/life balance is a clear commitment of program leadership, faculty, and the residents here at Mayo. Even during necessarily busy stretches of residency, a culture of teamwork and togetherness among the residents provides incredible support, and program leadership frequently engages to ensure that every resident is thriving. Interests and life outside of medicine are a consistent point of emphasis. Personally, having a wife and three small kids, I could not envision a more accommodating or supportive training program than this one."

What is something you love most about this program?

"What I love most about Mayo has, by far, been the wonderful people here! I am surrounded by such kind, thoughtful, and incredibly intelligent individuals. Everyone here is passionate about teaching, mentorship, and our development in patient care and research. The program is small enough to form meaningful relationships with everyone, but the institution is large enough to allow for diverse clinical exposure and ample research opportunities."
