Due to COVID-19, we are currently unable to accommodate any on-campus recruitment visits or meetings. In order to provide a space for you to learn more about our programs, careers in health care, and what it is like to be a student at Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences, we have created a variety of virtual visit opportunities. Learn more about our visit options below!

Registration is required for all sessions. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with the link to the session. 

Information Sessions

Information Sessions (for high school students)

These sessions are geared toward students who are currently in high school and interested in exploring the many careers in the health care field, beyond a doctor or nurse. While these sessions are intended for high school students, anyone is welcome to attend, even if not a current high school student. Each session will include:

  • An overview of Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences
  • Advice for what you can do now as a high school student
  • Financial aid information
  • A presentation from our academic success coaches about student resources

Information Sessions (general)

These sessions are geared toward those who are in college, have a degree, are considering a career change, or are non-traditional students and interested in exploring the health care field, outside of becoming a doctor or a nurse. While content will be presented with this audience in mind, anyone is welcome to attend. Each session will include:

  • An overview of Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences
  • Financial aid information
  • A presentation from our academic success coaches about student resources

Inside Look

Our Inside Look Sessions take a step further and focus on three to four programs so you can learn more about the career as well as the program. Program directors and/or faculty will showcase their program by talking about the profession, admission requirements, curriculum, schedule, and more. These sessions are for anyone interested in the specific health care field.

We encourage participants to attend one of our Information Sessions to learn more about Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences before attending the Inside Look Sessions as only a brief introduction of the school will be made.

Application Sessions

The Application Session gives an overview of the application for those applying to the programs within Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. The session will go over how to create an account, sections of the applications, required supplemental items, and the ability to have questions answered one on one in a breakout room. This session is to ensure applicants know what all is required to make an application complete and move to the review stage.

Individual Virtual Visit

Our virtual visits are one-on-one video sessions with a member of our admissions team. They provide a more personalized look at our programs and your interests. During these meetings, you can expect to:

  • Get the inside scoop on programs available at Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences
  • Hear what it's like to be a student at Mayo Clinic, including a behind-the-scenes look at our classrooms, labs, and other spaces
  • Receive personalized information, specific to you and your career goals
  • Get answers to questions such as eligibility, how to apply, pathway options, and more
  • Explore career options and the many next steps available after completing one of our programs
  • Meet and greet a friendly face in our admissions department!

Open house (virtual experience)

In past years, Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences has hosted an in-person open house to give prospective students a hands-on look at a variety of health care careers.

While we are currently unable to offer an in-person open house due to COVID-19, we are hosting a virtual open house. The virtual open house is free and provides valuable information about Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. You can expect information about:

  • Academic programs
  • The application process
  • Diversity and inclusion at Mayo Clinic
  • An overview of Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences
  • Simulation experiences

The virtual open house will have limited space and registration is required.

Waitlist: If you try to register, and the event is full, please email Jolene Young at young.jolene@mayo.edu to be placed on a waitlist. 

Information for registrants: Three weeks prior to the event, registered participants will receive an email and will need to confirm their spot. If you do not confirm your spot, it will be filled by people on the waitlist.
