Alumni

The most important indicator of the success of a training program is found in the outcomes of the graduates upon completion of their training.

Mayo Clinic residents are highly successful in obtaining the fellowships and jobs of their choice after graduation. Historically, two-thirds of the graduates from Mayo Clinic's campus in Florida have entered subspecialty training.

Recent graduates of Mayo Clinic’s Internal Medicine Residency practice in all regions of the United States and around the world, oftentimes becoming leaders in their practices, local and national societies, and sub-specialty societies.

During my internal medicine residency, I gained expertise in diverse medical cases including rare ones, and allowed me to have strong foundation for my current career of endocrinology.

In addition to an excellent education, clinical training and research opportunities, I was able to work with brilliant mentors who illuminated my path, as I thrived in an environment that blended cutting-edge education and clinical practice.

I cultivated my skills in patient-centered care for best patent outcome while also prioritizing self-care.

Coming to Mayo Clinic in Florida has been one of my best decisions. As a budding gastroenterologist, the program prepared me to be a well-rounded clinician as well as an outstanding applicant for GI Fellowship. From day one we learned the art of camaraderie and collegiality, focusing on patient-centered care regardless of one's level of training. From an academic viewpoint I was able to establish mentorship that was crucial to shaping my career, research pursuits, and influenced me to become an interventional endoscopist. My years at Mayo Clinic and ongoing mentorship relationships continue to this day.

During my internal medicine residency, I developed a strong foundation in hospital medicine and was inspired by the mentorship, teamwork, and culture of innovation that surrounded me. These experiences shaped my passion for improving patient care through new models of practice and gave me the skills to thrive as both a clinician and leader.

I have had the privilege of helping to pioneer Mayo Clinic’s Advanced Care at Home program, as well as lead efforts in digital health, simulation medicine, and hospital transformation. The residency provided not only exceptional clinical training but also the vision and tools needed to reimagine how and where care is delivered.

As a lifelong Floridian, being able to stay in Florida near my family while receiving training at one of the preeminent academic institutions felt like quite the prize. This tight-knit residency program fostered relationships among the trainees that seamlessly integrated lifelong connections with mentors and faculty who are experts in serious and complex diseases. This residency allowed me to find my home in Nephrology after laying the foundation for compassionate, patient-centered care. It also provided the necessary skills for managing leadership positions impacting Access to Care and undergraduate and graduate medical education.
