Belonging and Inclusion

Mayo Clinic participated in Jacksonville’s River City Pride parade and festival in 2018.

Mayo Clinic is committed to health equity. One method of achieving this is through Mayo Employee Resource Groups (MERGs), which are employee-led affinity groups to promote belonging, increase cultural awareness, and foster an environment of respect and inclusivity. Any Mayo Clinic employee can join a group of interest and choose their level of involvement.

One MERG the Internal Medicine Residency Program is actively involved in is geared towards lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) employees and supporters (“allies”). Florida’s LGBTI MERG welcomes all to expand healthcare inclusivity of the LGBTI and Ally community through the support and education of Mayo Clinic patients, visitors, and staff.
