The Medical Spanish Longitudinal Selective is an opportunity to gain and practice the skills required to communicate and connect with Spanish-speaking patients in the clinical setting. Sessions will include demonstrations and practice with the use of interpreters, interactive grammar practice, building medical vocabulary, practice building rapport with Spanish-speaking patients, as well as practicing taking histories, physical exams, and discussing treatment plans in Spanish.

Medical Spanish for Beginners is a longitudinal selective that gives students an opportunity to learn the basics of Spanish with a focus on communicating and connecting with Spanish-speaking patients in a clinical setting. This selective, designed for students with little or no prior experience with the language.
Students participate in a course that trains medical professionals, military, and first responders in limited resource medical care. Curriculum delivered will be a combination of didactic presentations, case presentations, hands-on skills stations, simulations, and Procedural Skills Lab activities.
